Maria

£7.50

This seductive mulberry base is a go-to for sophistication and glamour. As chic as the staple dark burgundies but with a modern twist as foiled flakies dancing throughout create a new take on an old classic.

What can I say, this is simply stunning and is maybe the most beautiful polish ever!

    Oooooooo. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

We've all got at least one of those vampy colours, we love them, they're always winners. But even i, as a fully paid-up citizen of the Dark Side, had got to the "nothing new to see here" point - especially online buyers; each beautifully lit, enhanced to the heavens and WOW! purchase tends to end up looking just like the other forty-two thousand you fell for.

But Maria really IS different. The base colour is a dark, purple-red (identical to Ribena - my fave drink. Hardcore, eh?) translucent, so you get that gorgeous jelly squishiness and never-ending depth but none of the PITA qualities usually associated with jelly application; the polish is a dream to apply so you get that layered quality in two easy coats.

But what really pulls Maria into unique territory is the glitters/flakies/mashed-up fairies/whatever magic Sarah sold her soul for this week. The viscosity of the base holds them in perfect suspension so they brush into the nail evenly without needing endless manipulation and the end result is spectacular - a true vamp isn't just dark drama, she has intriguing hints of humour and playfulness and this polish captures it all.

I love it, it's the perfect blend of mystery and show. Whoever inspired Maria, thank you!
